Born in Homs, Syria 1980

Studied: Bachelor in sculpture, Damascus 2003.

Master in Printmaking, Vienna 2011 “Akademie der bildenden Künste”.

The deep experience of the Syrian conflict has opened an aspect in Sami’s work, driving the abstract-conceptual perception of art into its human roots.

Since 2012, he has been initiator and participant of many art-social projects in context of the Syrian conflict at the Turkish-Syrian borders; art with refugees; “human need art” a multidisciplinary work to achieve integration of art and education in the context of crisis.

Since 2005 several group- and solo-exhibitions in Damascus, Vienna, Prague, London and Casablanca. C2C gallery, Prague. Artmark gallery, Vienna.

Children of freedom; drawing and painting workshops in Yayladagi, Antakya, and Reyhanli in Turkey.
Childhood diary; a children photography project and workshops in Syria and Turkey.

Sami is member of the central artistic team and joins the initiative for various projects and workshops since 2013.
